Welcome to the Junior Choir at St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux.

(Linda Esty, Organizing Committee Chairperson)

The aim of the junior choir is to support our church and community youth in service through music. The program makes possible chances for musical training, performance, friendship and travel, as well as opportunities to serve in the larger community.

The junior choir is in session from September to June. They meet weekly on Saturday's from 4:30 - 5:45 pm for practice with our music director David McCartney. The junior choir participates with the senior choir in the 9:15 service on Sunday mornings. Junior choir members are required to be at church at 8:30 am on Sunday mornings in order to change into their gowns and prepare for the service.

Normally the junior choir will perform in the community two to three times each term (Fall and Spring). These musical evenings typically take place in a senior's home, hospital or nearby mall, and serve to bring much joy and love into the hearts and minds of the audience, as well as further exposing the junior choir to performing.

A committee of six to eight members supports the junior choir, meeting monthly to plan practices, performances and trips. Each year a trip during the March public school break is organized. Junior choir members 11 years and younger need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Music Director David McCartney and all our dedicated volunteers work hard to prepare for each ambitious season and success is dependant on regular attendance and commitment. Three consecutive absences from practice will require David's approval to remain on the list of performers for the trip.

We are expecting another great season of fine music, fellowship and fun.

Sincerely,

Linda Esty, Committee Chairperson

Community Performances & March Break Trips

In 2011, March 12-15, the Junior and Adult choirs travelled to Washington, DC, where we performed at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, and then went sightseeing on Monday.
